WHAT’S WRONG WITH USING THE PHONE????

Ugh!  This is so freakin’ annoying!!

I can officially enroll in my graphic/web design classes.  I am so excited!  I will have Photoshop, InDesign, Flash and Dreamweaver skills by the end of the summer.  Woo hoo!

What does this mean?  The better I get at all of these disciplines, the possibility of me returning to Corp. America as a FT employee decreases.

In Improv you are always right.  However,  I found a way to make this untrue.  I have a problem with making statements because I ask a hell of a lot of questions. Now, I need to un-train myself on asking questions.  Who would have thought that would be such a huge challenge?  I’m beginning to feel as nosy as my senior neighbors on my block.

Who messes up Improv??

As I read the story about the senator who refused to vote for the unemployment extension, I had two thoughts:

1. What would he had done if he did not have a job; did not have a prospect for employment; and had to depend on government benefits to ensure that his basic needs of food and shelter could not be met?
2. Has this current economic crisis shown Americans they cannot depend on Corporate America or the government to fully care for them?

I can think of at least three ways Americans have been failed by businesses and government.

1. Lost jobs
2. Waiting for unemployment approval
3. Loss or reduction of funds invested in pensions and retirement

I know there are more but time will not allow for extended thoughts at this time.  Just know that current events have shown that Americans cannot look to government or corporations to care for them; they must take care of themselves.

My graphic and web design classes have been approved for classes through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA).   Know what that means?  It means that my creativity will be taken to a new level which is the perfect complement to my writing skills.  AND, it will help my social media skills, too.  I just don’t know how right now.  Everything will fall into place.

This is also my entry into the Apple World.  I went to the Apple Store on last week and fell in love all over again with the Mac Book Pro AND the iPod Touch.  Ok, the love was never gone.   Anyway, I will have both in my possession before the end of this year.

Gosh, I’m loving this life!  This is my time and I’m taking all of the opportunities God is giving to me because I’ll never have this chance again.

It is possible to trust someone professionally and not personally?

I’ve connected with a guy who I mixed feelings about.  I like him, but there is something about him I don’t like.  I haven’t figured out what it is.  Anyway, because of his love of business, I know I can trust him professionally.  Due to some things that have happened (not really bad; not really good), I don’t think I could rely on him personally.  This is a strange feeling.

So, is it possible to trust someone professionally and not personally?

So, is being patient the same as being tolerant?

Why are some gospel songs so long? I know the artist is feeling his/her work, but the listening audience is not having that same feeling.

Are adults really smarter than 5th graders? I have encountered a lot of individuals with degrees that made me pose this question.

Who owns Facebook, LinkedIn and other social networking sites – corporations or government?

Why are government entities and other corporations making the unemployed and underemployed pay more when they have less? The people in charge probably have NOT experienced a change in income.

Why is it that Black people are the only group of people that do not unite for the betterment of the race?  They do not fully know the power they have.  All they have to do is stop spending their money for a month, and a lot of entities will feel the effect.  Just check out the Alabama bus boycott during the Civil Rights years.

Why don’t Black people realize that most other people only tolerate them for financial purposes?  Everyone knows the power of the Black dollar except Black people.

One last thing, why is it impossible to find Black history information from institutions and organizations that specialize in this subject?  Truly, it’s disappointing.  That may be a story really soon.

Those are my thoughts for now.

I completed my 6th speech at Toastmasters on Saturday.  Only four more to go before I earn my Advanced Communicator Bronze (ACB).  I will have that before the end of June.

As I continue to learn more about the service I’ll be offering under The Write Design Company, I get more excited. I need my excitement to jump onto some paper so I can start planning properly.

Things are moving forward with Shorty: Your Chicago South Side Resource.  I have enough information to schedule posts for the remainder of the month.  Now, I don’t have to work so hard to seek information.  The only thing I need to do now is promote my blog.  My press release will be done before the end of the week.

So far, the stories for As NOT Seen on TV have been about the absence of Black people on TV.  I wonder if I can find Asians, Hispanics and Native Americans to share their dismay about this issue so I won’t have to do so much research.  Well, at least I got started.

Although I have not been able to dedicate a lot of time to my roller skating history book, I have been conducting research so when time permits all I have to do is right.

I submitted guest blog posts to Pen & Prosper and Blondish.net.  The story for Pen & Prosper was published.  I’m still waiting to hear back from Blondish.  Regardless of what happens, at least I started my submission process.  Oh, I submitted a story to N’Digo MagaPaper and Chicago Magazine.

Reading On Writing Well has been a huge blessing, too.

I am well on my way!!!

I had the opportunity to share my business idea with a couple businessmen whose opinions I respect.  One person helped me flesh out my idea while the other helped to expand it.  The only thing I need to do now is stay seated for a full day to just work on my businesses. It’s a challenge to work in and on my business, but I’m going to do it and hold my own before the end of March

Revisions are needed as well as marketing for my idea.  All of that will be done by March 15th so I can move forward with selling my services.
