Yesterday I sent an Update from Marcie to let my people know what I’m doing and some of the needs I have for my business journey.  As you know, a closed mouth doesn’t get fed and I’m ready to eat!!!  Anyway, someone wished me well on my progress and then sent me information about her organization.  While I don’t mind helping others, this person NEVER helps me.  This person wanted information the last time I sent the update.

I have three options:

1. Be kind anyway.
2. Remove the person from my list.
3. Ignore her.

I am having the hardest time getting my book published from Blogapalooza.  There is always some technical glitch.  If I just knew I wasn’t close to where God would have me to be, I would probably freak out.  As it is, I’m just patiently working on other projects as I move closer to my goal.  My book will be published and I will have “author” on my name by the end of October.

I’m looking forward to BlogWorld Expo in October.  The event is from October 14 – 16, 2010.

And, that’s all I have for now.  I’ll let you know what happens.

I picked up a friend yesterday who was experiencing car troubles.  While driving home, he said that he was almost finished paying off two car notes, which I thought was a great blessing.  He then said, “I might buy that truck I want.”  I wanted to come to a screeching halt like Fred Flinstone and Barney Rubble on The Flinstones.  Dude, are you serious???

You are about to be free – a little (there is still insurance and repairs) – and you would seriously entertain a new vehicle?  That wasn’t the kicker.

Not to put his business in the street…ok, yes I am.  He has three cars and live in an apartment with his family.   Two of his children are almost teens.  They need their own space.  Then, he said that he was suspended for a few days without pay and that set you back.  WTF are you thinking????  You need a new car like you need a hole in your head.  And, your wife is OK with this?

My friend is an example of the billion dollar black consumer that don’t own anything.  Definitely NOT how I’m going to be.

I just had to share this bad experience with a Millipede video game.  I’m stuck in the 80s,so to see my favorite game was exhilarating!  The game was part of a multi-video game unit so I didn’t think anything of the joystick because I was just happy to see Millipede.

My happiness turned to disappointment after I dropped my first quarter and couldn’t maneuver my gun the way I wanted to.  After I lost my first gun before 5,000 points, I stood there dumbfounded.  When I lost it again immediately thereafter, I was a bit upset.  I’m good at the game and I really love it, so what was wrong? A JOYSTICK! You can’t play Millipede with a joystick; you have to have the roller ball.

That made me lose all respect for that game at that particular location. If I have to make a special trip to Odessy Fun World just to play Millipede, I will.

Just wanted to share my bad Millipede experience.

I was having a conflict about what to charge for my blogging service.  Initially, I was setting my rates according to other people’s opinions about the economy.  That was not good.  I was going to charge at least $25 per hour less than what I really wanted to get paid.

Fortunately,  I met with Lester McCarroll of the McCarroll Group and Ed Lighthall today.  They pretty much told me to price for myself and then target the companies that will pay.  That was great.  That is exactly what I needed at this time.

I can honestly say that my lack of pricing is the main reason why I have not promoted The Write Design Company as hard as I could have.  Also, I have to finish writing my service plan.  I need to know who my audience is and how much to charge them. I am almost there.

While I leaving the bank the other day, a young lady pulled up and was staring at me. I guess it was because I was staring in her direction.   Why did her SUV have “whore” keyed on it? I stared longer than expected because I wanted to make sure I was seeing what I thought I was seeing.  Yep, I was correct.

The only thing I really want to do was: What really happened for her to get that message?

I told my little sister I would stop cursing, but I really don’t want to right now. But I will. I have to be a positive role model. And, if I hear her cursing I am almost certain I will be on channels 2,5,7,9 and FOX because old school traditions will kick in. So, to save her life and mine (I’m too cool to go to jail), I’m going to stop. Even when I think about those flipping parking meters!

After that conversation, I’m finding it very easy to say what I need to say to other people.  Not that it is disrespectful; it’s just more forthcoming.  I feel freer.  And, in order for me to be my happiest, I have to say what’s on my mind.  I just have to work on tact.  Pray for me.

The Wait and Weight of Promise was Reverend January’s sermon topic today, and he was speaking to me.  He shared how Abraham and Sarah were waiting trying to have a baby, and she finally delivered at 89 or 90 years old (I forgot which age).

Because Sarah didn’t believe she would have a baby even after God told her she would, she went out of order and told Abraham to have a baby with one of her servants.

Each of your promises require a wait.  However, there is a weight that also come with it.

There were a few points that just slapped me in my face.

• Every promise starts with a vision and will come with some waiting.    So to my dear one who told me that you cannot see successes until I focus on one thing, God gave me two things to work together with the same purpose but for different purposes.
• God sets due dates, therefore, He does not delay things beyond its appointed time.  Sometimes it’s hard to have faith, but I’m holding tight.  What’s to come is going to be greater than all of the points in the business plans I’m writing for each of my ventures.
• Know what you are waiting for. I know what I want my end result to be. In the meantime, I am working on becoming THE Billion Dollar Blogger through The Write Design Company and Shorty: Your Chicago South Side Resource.  A Billion Dollars is not only my ultimate net worth after the government tax me outta the wazoo; it’s also how I want my clients to feel after our interaction.
• While you’re waiting for your promise, overcome barren thinking.  I cannot afford negative thoughts to come in on any level.  That will discount all of my efforts I have put forward thus far.
• Don’t go ahead of God. I’ve done that before and it’s totally not worth it.  And, it’s more work.  Save yourself time and efforts, and just wait.
• Be careful relying on usual things in unusual times. You gotta do things differently as you go to the next level in life.  Sometimes that means getting rid of people.
• You will be stretched.  All I can say is: If you can’t stand the pressure, find people that can help.  Pray ALL the time and cry when you have to.  I’m not going to tell you to give up your dream because God gave it to you for a reason.  However, know that you cannot do it alone
• Every promise is a new walk of faith. You will start to walk funny.  Depending on your attitude, most days you walk upright. There will days when you are slouched over.  If you are slouched over more than upright, seriously reconsider what you are doing.  It may not be for you RIGHT NOW.  If God gave you a vision, it is for you, but the timing may not be right.

I know that The Write Design and Shorty’s time are promises whose time have come. I’m looking forward to them. What are some of the promises you are waiting for?

As of August 1, 2010, my new professional nickname is “Billion Dollar Blogger.”  This will be done through setting up and managing blogs, coaching and training.

My event casting service will also contribute to my billion dollar status.  I will integrate blogging, live blogging, and social media and multimedia tools to make it all happen.  I’ll get to that after I get my blogging services going the way I want them to.

Beneath all my blogging excitement, I am still a journalist and creative soul.
