I just had to share this bad experience with a Millipede video game. I’m stuck in the 80s,so to see my favorite game was exhilarating! The game was part of a multi-video game unit so I didn’t think anything of the joystick because I was just happy to see Millipede.

My happiness turned to disappointment after I dropped my first quarter and couldn’t maneuver my gun the way I wanted to. After I lost my first gun before 5,000 points, I stood there dumbfounded. When I lost it again immediately thereafter, I was a bit upset. I’m good at the game and I really love it, so what was wrong? A JOYSTICK! You can’t play Millipede with a joystick; you have to have the roller ball.

That made me lose all respect for that game at that particular location. If I have to make a special trip to Odessy Fun World just to play Millipede, I will.

Just wanted to share my bad Millipede experience.

While I leaving the bank the other day, a young lady pulled up and was staring at me. I guess it was because I was staring in her direction. Why did her SUV have “whore” keyed on it? I stared longer than expected because I wanted to make sure I was seeing what I thought I was seeing. Yep, I was correct.

The only thing I really want to do was: What really happened for her to get that message?

The Wait and Weight of Promise was Reverend January’s sermon topic today, and he was speaking to me. He shared how Abraham and Sarah were waiting trying to have a baby, and she finally delivered at 89 or 90 years old (I forgot which age).

Because Sarah didn’t believe she would have a baby even after God told her she would, she went out of order and told Abraham to have a baby with one of her servants.

Each of your promises require a wait. However, there is a weight that also come with it.

There were a few points that just slapped me in my face.

Every promise starts with a vision and will come with some waiting. So to my dear one who told me that you cannot see successes until I focus on one thing, God gave me two things to work together with the same purpose but for different purposes.

God sets due dates, therefore, He does not delay things beyond its appointed time. Sometimes it’s hard to have faith, but I’m holding tight. What’s to come is going to be greater than all of the points in the business plans I’m writing for each of my ventures.

Know what you are waiting for. I know what I want my end result to be. In the meantime, I am working on becoming THE Billion Dollar Blogger through The Write Design Company and Shorty: Your Chicago South Side Resource. A Billion Dollars is not only my ultimate net worth after the government tax me outta the wazoo; it’s also how I want my clients to feel after our interaction.

While you’re waiting for your promise, overcome barren thinking. I cannot afford negative thoughts to come in on any level. That will discount all of my efforts I have put forward thus far.

Don’t go ahead of God. I’ve done that before and it’s totally not worth it. And, it’s more work. Save yourself time and efforts, and just wait.

Be careful relying on usual things in unusual times. You gotta do things differently as you go to the next level in life. Sometimes that means getting rid of people.

You will be stretched. All I can say is: If you can’t stand the pressure, find people that can help. Pray ALL the time and cry when you have to. I’m not going to tell you to give up your dream because God gave it to you for a reason. However, know that you cannot do it alone

Every promise is a new walk of faith. You will start to walk funny. Depending on your attitude, most days you walk upright. There will days when you are slouched over. If you are slouched over more than upright, seriously reconsider what you are doing. It may not be for you RIGHT NOW. If God gave you a vision, it is for you, but the timing may not be right.

I know that The Write Design and Shorty’s time are promises whose time have come. I’m looking forward to them. What are some of the promises you are waiting for?

Note: I don’t know who’s logo this is, but thank you for letting me use it.

I thank God for people in my life who support me in my endeavors. Sometimes it’s just a matter of listening to me rant and rave about a whole lot of things they don’t understand, but they encourage me anyway.

As I near financial independence with The Write Design Company, I get overly excited. I don’t know what’s going to happen, I just know that I HAVE to do the things I need to do to be prepared for when opportunities present themselves.

I am going to write my blogging book through The Write Design Company’s blog. This is great because I have to post weekly anyway so I may as well use the tools at my disposal to make it happen. And, I love blogging anyway so it should be cool.

I took my little sister to Apple Camp at the Apple Store last week and was very impressed with the three-day program. I think we were both pleased with the gadgets we played with, but the iPod Touch and Macbook Pro will come home with me within the next three months.

Shorty: Your Chicago South Side Resource is about to make money. Lots of it. I worked with Dequiana Brooks, President of Inspired Graphics Media, to work out a plan today. She is truly a blessing.

It’s time for me to complete a couple things so I can move forward. Gotta go. Just wanted to share.

Something happened recently, and I could not upset. I could only comply with what happened because I was disobedient and I knew it. You can’t argue with God when you know you’re wrong. He’s been trying to get my attention, and I’ve been doing what I wanted to do. When He got fed up, He said, “Look, I’ll show you who’s in charge.” And, He did. He got His point across loud and clear.

As a child who has gotten reprimanded by Her father, I am going to listen and obey. I’m not even going to wait for Him to tell me what to do; I’m just going to do it. Yes, it scared me that much. God did what He had to do to get me to do what He wanted me to do.

I am a much better person as a result. Did I mention that I much more afraid of His wrath?

Even with everything that I’m doing, I need to have some stuff completed by the end of the week. I’m going to make a goal completion list for the month, then this week to make sure it happens. Ah, the beautiful feeling of progress.

1). The election of Barack Obama, the 1st Black president of the United State of America. Who would have known that by the start of another decade in the early 21st century, the past activities of racism and bigotry would join together in the majority and place a Black face at the helm of the free world? Regardless of Obama’s policies and accomplishments, this monumental decision by the American people should motivate and inspire future generations to believe, and reach for their dreams.

2). The removal of a two term sitting governor from his post as CEO of the state of Illinois was something that took all Chicagoans by surprise. Former Governor Rod Blagojevich was accused of abusing his office as an alleged ATM to keep his friends, family and foes rolling in the loot. And as long as they agreed to return favors and exchange cash, they would have the pin number to the cash station machine parked in the halls of Springfield.

3). The unexpected early elimination of Chicago’s bid for the 2016 Olympics had the assembled power team stuck with their mouths wide open. They raised the money; they galvanized parts of the city, and brought in major muscle in national and international Olympians including former NBA greats Magic Johnson and David Robinson, as well as iconic media mogul Oprah Winfrey to lend a voice to capture the flame. But throughout it all, the oppositions rained on the parade of Mayor Daley’s legacy and sent Chicago’s Copenhagen entourage home packing with their tales between their legs minus tens of millions of tax dollars.

4). R. Kelly’s not guilty verdict of inappropriate sexual contact with an under age groupie kept people watching like a train wreck. The world was split down the middle on this allege story of urination and misconduct against a young lady who for all intensive purposes vanished like a puff of smoke before the trial. All that was left was his millions of adoring fans, and his over jealous protractors wanting their own personal justice to be inflicted on the pied piper. But in the end, the king of R&B was giving his pen, paper and microphone to continue his foreplay lyrical genius.

5). Mayor Daly has seen the walls crumble around him with the Hired Truck Scandal, as he has seen allege child hood friends, business associates and loyal campaign supporters walk the blank and head directly to Statesville. There have been over two dozen or more supposing scandals under his twenty year reign as boss, but the man called the Teflon Don has managed to remain unfazed by allegations without his office ever being indicted. Through it all he beautified a city, but will only be remembered for overseeing a failed school system, and a city besieged by patronage and mismanagement of funds. But when the money is being giving to the right people, it can’t be called mismanaged, just payment for services rendered.

6). Chicago has seen three Blacks travel to Washington, D.C. as U.S. Senators during the last decade. First Carol Moseley Braun was the first Black woman in the good ole white male club, then or current president out foxed his scandal latten opponents to be the second Black from Chi town, and before his seat warmed, he won the presidency and open the halls of Congress to current U.S. Senator Roland Burris, the most maligned third Black to hold court on a part time basis.

7). Jennifer Hudson, the darling of America has had the fastest rise to stardom in the history of the entertainment industry. She first was unfairly booted from popular talent show American Idol, and then spent a few months traveling the seven seas singing on cruise ships, and performing at The TRUTH Awards ’07, followed by a leading roll in “Dream Girls” along side R&B sensation Bionce. JH went on to win an Academy Awards (Oscar) for best supporting actress in the popular musical, and followed that with a Grammy award from her first CD for her lead single Spot Light, and another supporting roll in the “Sex and the City” feature film. But her many overnight triumphs couldn’t shield her from realities of life in the hood, as her mother, brother and nephew were brutally killed in an alleged robbery gone badly.

8). With all his many unwarranted outburst, Kanye West has still been the most recognizable and talented producer/artist the last five years. Kanye has won multiple Grammy’s, been sought out to produce some of today’s most popular and energetic sounds for music and films. Kanye’s has been labeled a genius from top performers in the record business, and his songs have been used in the NBA and NFL the last two years. West has over come his own personal loss as he experienced the untimely death of his mother, who was by far his biggest fan and supporter. She also help manage his personal and business affairs to assure he was getting the best possible advise and council when deciding his lucrative and long term career.

9). With the Clear Channel partnership and 24 hours of content, WVON 1690 AM became a major player in mainstream news in a market that has over a dozen top tier outlets led by WGN talk and WGCI & B96 music format. This joint venture allowed 1690 to secure the big mouth civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton to host his nationally syndicated medium. They brought in a solid program director, which has giving life to a repetitive daily talk format, which lacks diversity while discussing the same topics around the clock. The only change in content occurs during the weekend line up, but the station has remained the voice of the people.

10). Oprah’s retirement from morning television was news around the world, and maybe on another planet. The queen of media can also be labeled the king of media with all her properties under her Harpo Productions. She has T.V., radio, satellite radio, cable, movie distribution, book club, charities and land investments. Oprah has by far surpassed every ones expectations and with her youthful years in her early 50’s, she has only just begun to cement her name and Black face in the hearts and minds of generations to come.

Honorable mentions: Rev Jackson calling out Barack and his nuts, Playboy’s demise as CEO and Hugh Hefner’s daughter Christy Hefner’s defected, Don Thompson as first Black president of McDonald’s U.S.A. with over 14,000 stores in the U.S. under his leadership, Chicago’s unemployment rate at 10.5% and 35% in the Black community, Ebony/Jet magazine drop in circulation and popularity with a lack of leadership, CPS as one of the worse school systems in the country with high crime and unthinkable student failure rate.
