That is much easier said than done. When you used to have a cashflow and you’re lucky if you get a drip, worry kicks in. When your wardrobe fights you and appears to be winning; yep, you’re going to worry. When everything that could go wrong actually goes wrong, stress becomes your best friend. But through it all, look at everything is going right. You woke up; you’re breathing; and you’re in your right mind is enough to get you started.

Even though you shouldn’t look at other what other people are doing, take a look at what they HAVE to do compare to what you HAVE to do. When you realize you don’t have to work as hard to do what you want or need to do, can you really be mad? When all of your bills are paid and your bank account is close to “E”, is there room for complaining. And, just knowing that God’s got your back no matter where you are in life….

I said all of that to say, as you look around and think you got it bad because things in your life have dwindled, just know that there is someone else worse off than you.

I completed my 6th speech at Toastmasters on Saturday. Only four more to go before I earn my Advanced Communicator Bronze (ACB). I will have that before the end of June.

As I continue to learn more about the service I’ll be offering under The Write Design Company, I get more excited. I need my excitement to jump onto some paper so I can start planning properly.

Things are moving forward with Shorty: Your Chicago South Side Resource. I have enough information to schedule posts for the remainder of the month. Now, I don’t have to work so hard to seek information. The only thing I need to do now is promote my blog. My press release will be done before the end of the week.

So far, the stories for As NOT Seen on TV have been about the absence of Black people on TV. I wonder if I can find Asians, Hispanics and Native Americans to share their dismay about this issue so I won’t have to do so much research. Well, at least I got started.

Although I have not been able to dedicate a lot of time to my roller skating history book, I have been conducting research so when time permits all I have to do is right.

I submitted guest blog posts to Pen & Prosper and Blondish.net. The story for Pen & Prosper was published. I’m still waiting to hear back from Blondish. Regardless of what happens, at least I started my submission process. Oh, I submitted a story to N’Digo MagaPaper and Chicago Magazine.

Reading On Writing Well has been a huge blessing, too.

I am well on my way!!!

While visiting the Freedom’s Sisters Exhibit at DuSable Museum, I had the opportunity to get up close and personal with 20 courageous and dedicated women in African American History. While it was the most blessed experience, I would have to say that learning about Ida B. Wells had the most profound impact on me.

She had the nerves to speak out about lynchings of black people in the late 1800. This was very risky at that time; yet, it was her passion and her purpose. She moved to Chicago and continued to inform audiences about lynching and other social injustices in writings and speeches.

I think Ms. Wells touched me so because I think there is something I am supposed to be saying. And, there is a way I should be saying it to touch upon audiences of all levels and understanding.

First, I am praying for the messages to share. Second, I am praying for the courage to speak up. I have lots to say, but will anybody listen? How can I make people care? The only way to find out is to start speaking.

Pray with me, y’all.

I find myself turning off my thought processes these days if my thoughts turn negative. That’s a really strange feeling since my mind is always going. Seriously. Sometimes I wonder if something is wrong with me because the thing won’t stop working. I mean….I’m glad it working, but the rate of my waves is sometimes disturbing (imagine having a conversation with me during one of those times .

Anyway, if something not-so-cool happens, I immediately call the only two to three people who will listen to me vent, get it out my system and move on to something else. Or, I blog or write about it to get it out of my system.

Ok, this is totally off topic, but I think I might be abnormal because I don’t get mad when I’m supposed to get mad. I get upset 2 – 3 hours after something has taken place. With certain situations, I get mad about the circumstance surrounding the incident rather than the incident itself.

Going back to the original topic. I try to keep my favorite gospel and other inspirational songs close by to clear my mental. In fact, my ideal day begins with a shower with my gospel music flowing. My three favorite morning songs are Prayer Changes by R. Kelly; Encourage Yourself by Donald Lawrence; and Because of Who You Are by Vicki Yohe.

That’s all I want to say on that topic. Gots to get to my writing now.

Yes, I am am sensitive when it comes to my writing. Someone said something to me today via e-mail and I got offended. It wasn’t anything bad; it was just my reaction to it.

I don’t know why I reacted. I think I’m overly emotional these days because I am so close to my goal. I’m working on and in my businesses. I’m doing things that are suggested by my mentors. The Write Design Company and Shorty are working hand-in-hand AND I’ve started getting good content for As NOT Seen on TV. Things are beginning to fall into place. Now, I just have to complete my business and marketing plans for The Write Design Company and Shorty, and work while the funds roll in.

Oh, Nile Flores, WordPress guru, webmaster and graphic designer, completed the theme for Shorty. Now, I’m just waiting for Marc Moran to complete the South Side Shorty and that will be up and running by the end of this month. I’m so excited.

God is good!!

Rev. January’s message on Sunday was “Wait on the Lord.” To me, this is the most challenging part of praying. Waiting.

Waiting means silent listening and sensing God. The definition of wait means “be ready.”

You should always anticipate an answer from God

Being ready makes you prepared

Every prayer has an assigned time

“Sometimes when we’re waiting for God to speak, He’s waiting for us to listen.” – May Kay Ash

“Delays are not denials, but only a waiting for the best time to come, for the fruits to ripen, for the soul to be prepared.” – Unknown

I shared that to let you know that waiting is part of prayer. And if you’re like, it is one of the most challenging. Also know that you may not like the answer you get to your prayer, but if you listen, you will get an answer.

Anyway, I think that the article is in alignment with the assistance that was provided by the staff for my business plan for the MillerCoors Business Plan Writing Competition. A couple days ago, I wrote that I felt great news coming on about the competition. Well, that was just confirmation.

I would love to hear Your take.
How’d all these sinners get up here?
God must’ve made a mistake.

‘And why’s everyone so quiet,
So somber – give me a clue.’
‘Hush, child,’ He said, ‘they’re all in shock.

No one thought they’d be seeing you.’

JUDGE NOT

Remember…Just going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a mechanic.

Every saint has a PAST…
Every sinner has a FUTURE
